Dentures must be brushed and rinsed. Regular toothpaste and brush will work most of the time and a denture brush can be used on stubborn stains. Tablets can be used as well as brushing. Don't use caustic powders or liquids. Bleach can cause damage to the denture. Leaving dentures out at night is a good practice. It allows the tissues under the dentures to recover from supporting the denture. When leaving a denture out, always leave them in the denture box. Pets love to chew them, and will, given a chance. If you have a persistent sore spot, please give our office a call for an adjustment appointment. Don't just stop wearing them. Adjustments to dentures are included in the cost for 30 days after fitting, after this time a fee may be charged for attention to any problems. Partial dentures should be taken out after eating and rinsed under running water. Attention should be paid to keeping the metal clasps, and the natural teeth they rest on, particularly clean to avoid cavities. |
